ActualCost — Know your real price

About ActualCost

Built to reveal what every job really costs.

ActualCost began with a practical construction problem: an estimate describes what should happen, but real labour, materials, subcontractors and quantities keep changing while work is underway.

The problem we are solving

Small construction teams often hold the truth about a project in several different places: an estimate, timesheets, supplier invoices, subcontractor records and progress billings. Each record may be correct on its own while the real result of a particular job remains difficult to see.

ActualCost brings those records back to the project and job where they belong. The purpose is straightforward: help a company see the difference between what it expected, what it has spent, what it has billed and what it has actually earned.

Made from operating experience

ActualCost is developed by ValueLAB MB from direct experience of managing construction work. Its workflow is shaped around daily realities: people move between jobs, estimates change, subcontractors sometimes replace internal labour, costs arrive at different times and a project may be billed in several stages.

We do not believe more data automatically means more control. The useful part is assigning each important cost to the correct job and presenting the result clearly enough to act while the work is still happening.

Know earlier

See developing cost pressure before the project is finished.

Learn by job

Understand which kinds of work perform well and where estimates need improvement.

Keep history

Preserve the rates and costs that applied when work was recorded.

Stay practical

Use a workflow intended for small teams doing real work, not only reporting on it.

Current stage

ActualCost is currently a private pilot. We are testing it with real construction workflows, correcting the details and preparing it for wider subscription access.
